katakatabashi

or The little bridge to the hereafter

katakatabashi – or The little bridge to the hereafter stems from the Japanese traditional ghost story "gatagata bashi" – namely "the rattling bridge", used by damned souls to get to a nearby gate of Hell. The man living next to the bridge, scared by the sighs and cries of the invisible souls, resolved to have a permanent memorial posted at the bridge, and did that succesfully, as no more cries of sorrow were heard crossing the bridge since then.
To the same extent this is a portfolio-memorial in loving memory of my life partner, Karola.
